HGRadio.com is proud to co-present The Home of Tomorrow exhibit at the State Fair of Texas, open through October 23, 2011.
The 10,000 square foot exhibit features the Micro Home of Tomorrow, The Renovated Home of Tomorrow and The Net-Zero Energy Home of Tomorrow.
In the 125-year history of the State Fair of Texas, The Home of Tomorrow has exhibited only twice before, in 1936 and 2000. This year’s exhibition showcases the latest innovation in home automation, energy-efficient construction, appliances, design and imaginative outdoor environments. Full-scale homes are on display to explore practical applications of cutting-edge technologies.
The Home of Tomorrow exhibition highlights natural interaction with technology, intelligence in everyday things, and merging the physical and digital worlds.
The Net-Zero Energy Home demonstrates how a home can produce all of its own electricity, and even sell excess electricity created within the home back to a power company. Examples within the Net-Zero home include: a solar tree, geo-thermal heating and air conditioning and a solar powered water heater. 3-D televisions are found throughout the home. Home automation is a big trend, and the home includes a robotic lawn mower that can be activated through an iPhone. The Remodeled Home, designed in a coastal modern theme, highlights recycled and new materials for a high-design look. The home uses reclaimed wood from three barns on the living room walls, adding to its modern rustic appeal.
